I wanted to remove the stain but I don't like using lots of chemicals to clean my kitchen or house. I generally use what I have in my kitchen to help with cleaning e.g. bicarbonate of soda, washing soda, vinegar etc. There are a few jobs where you do need that extra power to remove stains like in the oven or the BBQ and there I do resort to chemical action to remove the grime and give me a clean and fresh result.
However, getting back to the plate. I needed something that would remove the stain but wouldn't remove or damage the glaze on it. After a short search on the internet I confirmed what I thought and opted for a vinegar and salt solution.
Sorry, I didn't take a picture of the stain before I began. I added about 2 capfuls of vinegar to the plate and deposited a small amount of salt in it. Then, using my finger I dipped it in the vinegar and then the salt and used gentle pressure to rub across the stain.
Initially I didn't think it would work as I didn't see much of a change, but within a minute the stain was slowly disappearing.
After another few minutes of rubbing most of the stain was removed. There still is a small mark but i'm very happy with the result.
I thought i'd share my tip with you all, as you never know when you'll need it.
Here's the final pictures of the plate.
